Andy Evans’ environmentally focused Fantastical Plants sand drawing workshop livened up October half term at Victoria Park Ashford, for a group of enthusiastic young artists!

Imagine our plant world in the future, adapting to survive the effects of climate change.

Explore the park for both inspiration and raw materials to create artistic visions of the plants of our future.

Using the ancient art of sand painting, express your ideas as line drawings on the tarmac surfaces of the park, and then bring the images to life using natural found materials to add texture and colour to the creations.

Allow the artworks to remain as temporary pieces for passers-by to discover.

It was a lovely workshop and I think the young people really enjoyed it. We had some nice comments from passers-by in the afternoon after the workshop as well.” Youth Involvement Coordinator, Victoria Park Project
