Guided by artist Sara Trillo, participants used clay to print mysterious plant-based messages onto cotton flags, exploring codes and hieroglyphs: investigating the Ogham runic script, an ancient tree alphabet, and using it as inspiration for their own code designs. Some codes were printed onto cotton and tied with twine to withies, ending up as flags. At the end of the session everyone tried to decipher each other’s codes on their flags, to find out what the secret messages were!
